OLDER CHILDREN:
At Barton Graded School I use the Second Step curriculum for many of the social emotional learning lessons in all grades. Committee for Children, the non-profit behind Second Step offers a wonderful support called ParenTeen Connect. View video discussions with experts about what to do regarding screen time, independence, responsibility, and communication with your teens. https://www.parenteenconnect.org/learn-more/ |

YOUNGER CHILDREN:
Remember Sesame Street? My children loved Sesame Street! Committee for Children has collaborated with Sesame Workshop to bridge the divide between what children learn in school and what they learn at home with their families. Sesame Street’s Little Children, Big Challenges initiative provides tips and strategies to help adults and children (ages 2 to 5) navigate challenges and build lifelong skills for resilience. Find videos and materials HERE to support caregivers and children regarding resilience in general, as well as difficult challenges such as divorce or incarceration. |
